These are my first rankings and are totally unbiased.
1. Johan Santana NYM
I know hes 3-2, so what, his past has proven what he can do and already has a 6K/1Walk Ratio, 2nd best in the MLB. Once he gets used to the NL teams he will be dominant, and now he actually has a chance to rack up some wins, because of that offense. Only downside is he doesn't have Nathan to close out the game.
2. Brandon Webb ARI
Finally, a chance for him to prove himself in the desert, with a potent offense, he has been doing terrific and deserves this spot over Peavy. 6-0 with 30+ K definitely deserves a lot of attention and isn't a bad start.
3. Jake Peavy SD
You've got to give him some credit. The reigning Cy-Young winner got in the way of a hot team at the time (Astros) and couldn't get through. He does pitch in Petco which boosts his stats tremendously.
4. Josh Beckett BOS
Beckett is an amazing pitcher. He has a great offense and a good variety of pitches in his arsenal. Expect a usual 17+ Wins and a ridiculous amount of strikeouts.
5. Eric Bedard SEA
This guy's stuff is just filthy, A powerful K lefty, I predict a good # of wins with Putz closing, especially if he doesn't get injured.
6. Cole Hamels PHI
First of all, if he gets in the groove of pitching more than one pitch he can be a nasty pitcher. Still with his fastball, he is a K king and has a chance of 17 wins.
7. Carlos Zambrano CHI
I mean seriously how lucky will this guy be if this year he wins Cy-Young and the WS. He is a dominant pitcher who I expect 16+ Wins, and a low ERA.
8. Roy Halladay TOR
He is a SP and a RP good to know, in the 8th inning he still doesn't give up runs, its unbelievable. I expect a lot of Wins and a decent ERA.
9. Dan Haren ARI
This guy finally has reached his paradise. An awesome offense, so there is a potential for some wins after the All-Star break... Anyways I expect about a 2.60 ERA and a low WHIP. Wins should be great for this guy.
10. Tim Lincecum SF
Tim is just an amazing pitcher. He is just plain filthy. He finally seems to be getting the run support and is showing why he was a 1st round pick. I expect a 15-9 with 225 Ks and a 2.90 ERA
11. Cliff Lee CLE
He might not have had a great year 2 years ago and screwed up last year, but got it straight this year. He is on the best form any pitcher would want and is barely allowing hits. He deserves this spot.
12. Ervin Santana ANA
I know, I know, how could you put him this high? Well it looks to me that this year is his year. He has been showing outstanding numbers and a pretty decent ERA and WHIP but will get Ks and Wins.
13. Felix Hernandez SEA
The knocked off-ace who was highly touted, got the hype for a reason. He's finally showing people what he can do. Sadly the offense isn't the greatest but he is a 2 ER pitcher at most. I'm looking at 16-10 2.40 ERA 210 K.
14. Scott Kazmir TB
His elbow is fine and is getting ready for his 225+ Ks. i think this year he will get about 12-15 Wins with a low ERA.
15. Chien Ming Wang NYY
Wang's slider should be deemed illegal. It is just ugly. He won't get many K's but his ERA and run support make him a top 15 pitcher.
Just Missed: C.C Sabathia, R. Oswalt, E. Volquez (He is flat-out ridiculous)
